Hotpoint, Indesit, Creda, Swan and Proline Tumble Dryers - UPDATED

Recall Date: 22nd February 2017

Model Number: Hotpoint, Indesit, Creda, Swan and Proline brand condensor and vented Tumble Dryers manufactured between April 2004 and September 2015

Description: This recall was initiated in November 2015. This is the same recall updated with recently released information in March 2016, and again in February 2017 following revised guidance from the manufacturer. Hotpoint, Indesit, Swan, Proline and Creda tumble dryers manufactured between April 2004 and September 2015.

Risk: There is a risk of fire from affected battery packs.

Action: If you believe you have an affected appliance stop using it immediately and visit one of these websites to confirm and arrange a free visit from an engineer:

Statement from Whirlpool (The owner of the affected brands):"We are activating an extensive consumer outreach and service action plan in order to provide our consumers with products that are updated to higher safety and quality standards. We will arrange a visit from an engineer, free of charge, to modify your appliance. The service call will take approximately one hour. The improvements we believe are necessary will further enhance the safety and quality of your dryer.

Trading Standards confirmed, following an internal review by independent experts, that the modification programme remains the most effective way of resolving this issue. As a result, we will continue with our efforts to provide consumers with a free of charge modification as quickly as possible. Trading Standards have also notified us that updated usage advice should be communicated to affected consumers. If your tumble dryer is affected by this issue then you should unplug it and do not use it until the modification has taken place."

Description: Plastic robotic frog toys sold by Argos, Asda and Tesco stores. See image above for more details.

Risk: Risk of injury due to a design defect. If the battery cap is removed it can become a projectile and the chemicals can leak posing chemical and injury hazards.

Action: If you have an affected product please stop using it immediately. Return the product to the nearest branch of the store from which you purchased it for a full refund. Finger Torches



Recall Date: 15 March2017

Model Number: Product Code NV200Batch Number NV200/7

Description: Finger torches for raves and night blogging. Sold in blister packs of 4, see image for details.

Risk: Torch body can break, allowing access to button batteries. If swallowed these can be harmful, posing a risk of internal electrochemical burns.
