Durham Electrics are leading the way as an energy saving electrical contractor through the use of LED technology. We assist our clients to achieve reductions on their energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. We do this by making sure we only supply and install high quality products by competent people.

Durham Electrics are a family owned electrical maintenance contractor based in Durham City with an established reputation. We work across multiple sectors in the region including; Residential (in particular stately homes), Commercial, Agricultural, Leisure (in particular caravan parks and hotels) and Light Industrial (local breweries).

Having won the Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday award in 2015 we are now looking to expand the company. We are looking for an additional qualified electrician who can assist with day-to-day operations including securing of new contracts and assistance with out-of-hours emergency call outs.

The role involves working across multiple sectors in particular residential and commercial. You will be working on behalf of a number of blue chip organisations in the region therefore the successful applicant will be required to undertake a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check - previously known as a CRB. The cost will be met by the company.

The applicant must be willing to work on-call hours Monday to Sunday in particular evenings and weekends. This is done on a rotation so that electricians are not on-call constantly. A typical working day is 08:00-16:30 Monday to Friday however, applicants will need to be flexible to meet client requirements. Not every day at Durham Electrics is the same.

The majority of our work is within County Durham and surrounding areas. Surrounding areas include; Teesside, Tyne & Wear, North Yorkshire, Northumberland and occasionally Cumbria. You will therefore need to be able to travel.

We are seeking a full time employee however, will consider part-time for the right individual. The successful applicant can either be a CIS contractor or PAYE employed with a vehicle after a qualifying period.
